Job summary

General Micro Systems is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to develop mechanical enclosures for embedded electronics from concept through production. You will work with electronics engineers using SolidWorks and EPDM to drive form factors, interfaces, and thermal solutions.

The role requires 8+ years in mechanical design for electronics, proficiency in SolidWorks (5+ years) and EPDM (3–4 years), and experience with thermal, shock, and vibration validation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical design experience with electronics products and systems
• Proficiency with SolidWorks: 5+ years of professional experience
• Proficiency with EPDM: 3-4 years of professional experience
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
• Experience addressing thermal, shock, and vibration in electronics equipment
• Experience with low-volume manufacturing of sheet metal, machined, and molded components

Responsibilities

• Design from concept to product realization using SolidWorks & EPDM
• Support mechanical and thermal design and interface with electronics team
• Create mechanical drawings and BOMs; review drawings for conformance
• Document system design, assembly procedures, and test procedures
• Develop machined, sheet metal, and molded plastic parts
• Provide technical support to production and customers; participate in reviews
