Job summary

General Micro Systems, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to drive the mechanical design of electronic enclosures for embedded computing systems. You will develop from concept to production using 3-D CAD, coordinate with electronics and suppliers, and ensure thermal, shock, and vibration requirements are met.

The role requires a BSME, hands-on SolidWorks and EPDM experience, and involvement in SAE teams. On-site work with a standard 8 AM-5 PM schedule and strong manufacturing collaboration are

Qualifications

• BSME degree required.
• Working knowledge of FEA for thermal and structural analysis.
• Participation in SAE team competitions is required or demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Design involvement from concept to product realization using 3-D solid modeling software (SolidWorks & EPDM).
• Mechanical design of machined metal parts, sheet metal components, and molded plastic parts.
• Develop wiring harnesses and thermal solutions; support product validation testing (thermal, shock, vibration).
• Prepare design documentation: exploded assemblies, bills of materials, engineering analyses.
• Coordinate with electronics design, vendors, CM teams, and production for manufacturability and cost.
