Job summary

Seneca Dairy Systems, LLC in Romulus, NY on-site is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design custom dairy equipment using SolidWorks, create 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings from concept to production. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant mechanical design engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks; able to create complex parts and drawings.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication methods.
• Ability to produce accurate manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom mechanical equipment and systems using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
• Maintain and revise engineering drawings, models, and assemblies within the SolidWorks environment.
• Perform engineering calculations to validate designs for strength, functionality, manufacturability, and cost.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support purchasing with technical specifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to improve product designs and production efficiency.
• Work with project managers and customers to understand project requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Troubleshoot design issues during manufacturing, installation, and field operation.
• Participate in prototype development, testing, and continuous product improvement.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, and company quality requirements.
