Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services LLC in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in product design or drafting. You will design and integrate new components for installations, develop tolerances and BOMs, and collaborate with drafting teams to keep drawings current.

A background in compression and/or engines is preferred, and CAD proficiency (Solid Edge or SolidWorks) is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or Drafting.
• Associate of Applied Science in Drafting or Design.
• Mechanical Drafting Technical Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in product design or drafting, preferably with a background in compression and/or engines.
• Proficiency in CAD Software, preferably Solid Edge or Solid Works.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and ASME Code knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Execute the design or integration of new components into existing installations.
• Develop and propose fits, tolerances, and design changes for engineering review.
• Define and select components, assemblies, or systems meeting business standards and program/product requirements.
• Create new Bills of Materials (BOMs) tailored to customer installations.
• Modify existing BOMs and drawings to support product revisions or enhancements.
• Assist engineers in preparing technical data for internal and external customers.
• Process Engineering Work Requests, incorporating any necessary drawing or BOM updates.
• Collaborate closely with ACI/Cooper's drafting resources to ensure accuracy and timely updates of new or revised drawings.
