Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services in Ohio seeks a design/drafting professional to execute the integration of new components into existing installations and to create tailored BOMs for customer projects.

The role requires a BS in mechanical/design drafting, 2+ years of experience, and proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Edge or SolidWorks, with a strong ASME knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or equivalent in mechanical/design drafting with exposure to relevant standards.
  • 2+ years design or drafting experience, preferably with engines/compression.
  • Proficient in CAD tools and industry codes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute design or integration of new components into existing installations.
  • Develop fits, tolerances, and design changes for review.
  • Define and select components meeting program requirements.
  • Create new BOMs tailored to customer installations.
  • Modify BOMs/drawings for revisions or enhancements.
  • Assist engineers with technical data for customers.
  • Process Engineering Work Requests with necessary updates.
  • Collaborate with drafting resources to ensure accuracy of drawings.

Job description

  • Execute the design or integration of new components into existing installations.
  • Develop and propose fits, tolerances, and design changes for engineering review.
  • Define and select components, assemblies, or systems meeting business standards and program/product requirements.
  • Create new Bills of Materials (BOMs) tailored to customer installations.
  • Modify existing BOMs and drawings to support product revisions or enhancements.
  • Assist engineers in preparing technical data for internal and external customers.
  • Process Engineering Work Requests, incorporating any necessary drawing or BOM updates.
  • Collaborate closely with ACI/Cooper's drafting resources to ensure accuracy and timely updates of new or revised drawings.

Who You Are:

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or Drafting
  • Associate of Applied Science in Drafting or Design
  • Mechanical Drafting Technical Certificate
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in product design or drafting, preferably with a background in compression and/or engines.
  • Proficiency in CAD Software, preferably Solid Edge or Solid Works.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and ASME Code knowledge.

Preferred:

  • Product design or drafting experience in compression and/or engines.
