Job summary

AlfaTech is seeking a Design Engineer, Mechanical in San Jose, CA for a hybrid role. You will lead mechanical design tasks, interact with clients and project teams, and contribute to sustainable, innovative engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience, a Mechanical Engineering degree, and proficiency in Revit, Energy Pro and BIM tools. EIT and LEED are preferred. Hybrid work from San Jose offered.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience as a Designer or related role (2–4 years).
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior engineers through the mechanical design and construction administration processes.
• Create mechanical designs with Revit.
• Conduct analyses to develop MEP design options and recommendations.
• Plan and design MEP systems for commercial facilities (education, healthcare, office, industrial).
• Perform energy modeling, system sizing, load calculations, and design layouts.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and equipment schedules.
• Coordinate project scope, design, and deadlines with project managers.
