Job summary

Quick USA Inc. is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer for an expansion-driven role in our Industrial Automation & Systems Integration Division.

You will lead robotic system integration and material handling projects, performing 3D modeling and mechanical design in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. You will oversee fabrication, cost estimation, and field installation and commissioning, coordinating with Electrical/Sales to align specifications.

Qualifications

Position

Summary

We are seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Design Engineer for an expansion‑driven role within our Industrial Automation & Systems Integration Division. This position focuses on robotic system integration (SIer), material handling systems (conveyors, AGVs, robotics), and custom automated equipment for key automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. The engineer will lead projects from a technical standpoint—handling 3D modeling and mechanical design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, while overseeing fabrication, cost estimation, and final field installation and commissioning. Candidates with a background in Japanese system integrators (SIers) or North American expat/assignment experience are welcome.

Essential Duties

• Mechanical Design & 3D Modeling: Perform detailed 3D modeling and mechanical design of custom automated equipment, robotic cells, and material handling systems using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

• Technical Consultation & Alignment: Meet with customers (automotive OEMs/Tier 1s) and internal cross‑functional teams (Electrical/Sales) to clarify equipment specifications and technical requirements.

• Project Execution & Engineering Management: Oversee end‑to‑end technical execution from concept design, parts selection, and purchase requisitions to cost estimation and vendor coordination.

• Fabrication & Assembly Oversight: Supervise in‑house and outsourced fabrication, assembly, and testing of custom machinery to ensure quality and budget compliance.

• Field Installation & Start‑up: Provide hands‑on equipment troubleshooting, field installation, commissioning, and start‑up support at customer facilities.
  

Working Hours, Working Style

Full-time; Office‑based with field support/travel.

Working Location

Kentucky (with 20–30% travel, including short‑term trips of 2–3 days and occasional 1–2 week onsite installation/start‑up trips).

Salary / Benefit

• Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 per year (Based on experience and skills).

• Support: Visa sponsorship available (E‑2 support; candidates applying directly from Japan or with North American expat experience are welcome). Relocation support considered.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Degree in Engineering or a related field. Experience with system integrators (SIers) or automated equipment manufacturers preferred.

• Technical Expertise: Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (Required). Solid background in automotive manufacturing, electromechanical systems, pneumatics, and robotic automation.

• Field Capability: Willingness and capability to handle technical project execution and field installation/commissioning (20–30% travel required).

• Language & Cultural Fit: Experience working with Japanese client projects or in Japanese business environments is a strong plus (direct applicants from Japan welcome).
