Job summary

Cindavi is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design custom shell-and-tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and industrial equipment for demanding applications. You will own projects from customer specs and code calculations through drawings, fabrication support, testing, and final documentation.

You will work with engineering, quality, machining, welding, purchasing, and production to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and ready to build.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience with ASME pressure vessels or shell-and-tube heat exchangers.
• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and applying code requirements.
• Experience creating fabrication-ready drawings and BOMs using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar CAD tools.
• Experience performing pressure-vessel calculations with manual methods or software (COMPASS, PV Elite, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design and detail ASME shell-and-tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and related equipment.
• Review customer specs to develop practical, manufacturable solutions.
• Perform and verify pressure-vessel calculations using appropriate software.
• Create complete general-arrangement drawings, fabrication details, machining drawings, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with quality, welding, machining, purchasing, and production to address questions and revisions.
• Support material traceability, inspection hold points, NDE, hydrotesting, and final documentation.
• Identify risks early to keep projects on schedule.
