Job summary

Heads Up Technologies is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to own detailed designs and assemblies across our product portfolio. You will model in 3D, document components, support HALT testing, and assist tooling and fixtures while coordinating with Electrical and Software teams for seamless integration.

Require a BS in mechanical engineering with 3+ years of design experience, strong drawing skills, and proficiency in Solid Edge or similar CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) or equivalent.
• Three (3) or more years of mechanical design experience.
• Ability to produce technical drawings and documents for internal and external customer use.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as Solid Edge or similar modeling tools.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, or machined components.
• Coordinate with Electrical & Software engineers to deliver multidisciplinary designs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own detailed design work of mechanical components & assemblies.
• 3D modeling, assembly & component documentation, HALT testing, support tooling/ fixtures.
• Prepare and present mechanical designs at design reviews.
• Participate in R&D and new product design efforts.
• Collaborate with Electrical & Software teams to ensure product integration.
• Support ECNs with existing designs.
• Support EOL efforts through component & material analysis and design updates.
• Work with suppliers, tooling vendors, and manufacturing partners to optimize manufacturability, assembly, reliability, and cost.
