Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer to create and modify 3D solid models and drawings for space-related applications. You will develop hardware, tooling, and test equipment, and prepare PBA drawings and ECNs, collaborating with the engineering team under the Sr Engineering Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics).
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in aerospace or defense.
• Ability to produce 3D CAD Models, Drawings and associated Parts Lists.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) and ASME Y14.100.
• Ability to perform Tolerance Analysis.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Proficient with Adobe Acrobat.
• Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Creo, and Visio.
• Ability to work independently and with a design team.
• Self-motivated to solve design problems and computer software related issues.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to juggle more than one task at a time, set priorities, and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D solid models.
• Create drawings and parts lists of mechanical parts and assemblies for space-related applications.
• Design tooling and test equipment.
• Create drawings of Printed Board Assemblies (PBAs).
• Author Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
• Edit Word documents and prepare PowerPoint presentations.
• Collaborate with Engineering and report directly to the Sr Engineering Supervisor.
• Develop hardware for critical space missions and high-reliability space applications.
