Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–8 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
• Experience in sheet metal design and copper component design.
• Knowledge of UL 891 standards.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and SolidWorks.
• Understanding of manufacturability and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for low-voltage switchgear.
• Create sheet metal designs for support structures and copper components.
• Develop mechanical support structures for electrical power distribution equipment.
• Create designs for Tap-Off Units, PDUs, RPPs, and Main Switch Boards.
• Apply UL 891 standards to mechanical designs.
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure production-readiness.
• Apply design-for-manufacturability throughout the process.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience designing mechanical components for electrical power distribution equipment, along with knowledge of UL 891 standards and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and SolidWorks. Experience with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability is required.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for low-voltage switchgear.
• Perform sheet metal design, particularly for support structures and copper components.
• Design mechanical support structures for electrical power distribution equipment.
• Develop designs for Tap-Off Units, Power Distribution Units (PDU), Remote Power Panels (RPP), and Main Switch Boards.
• Apply UL 891 standards to mechanical designs.
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production‑ready.
• Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) throughout the design process.
