Job summary

Nesco Resource is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in designing pressure vessels and process equipment. The role involves taking projects from concept through fabrication for energy, industrial, and nuclear markets, using ASME Section VIII design principles and industry software.

Responsibilities include performing design calculations, creating P&IDs and 3D models, sizing equipment, and ensuring compliance with ASME, API, ANSI, and NFPA standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline).
  • 3+ years of experience designing pressure vessels, process equipment, or heat exchangers.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API, ANSI, and NFPA codes and standards.
  • Experience using Compress and process modeling software (ProMax or similar) for pressure vessel and equipment design. Ability to perform pressure vessel calculations and equipment sizing—not solely relying on software-generated outputs.
  • Experience developing and reviewing P&IDs, engineering drawings, and 3D models.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, forming, and interpretation of shop drawings.
  • Experience with electrical area classification and process control system design.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Primarily office-based with in-facility drawing/design review and occasional shop-floor exposure (PPE required)

  • Occasional travel by car or air; light lifting may be required
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
