Job summary

TechDigital Group in San Jose, CA, is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to design electronic enclosures for next-generation networking systems. You will own 3D CAD models, GD&T drawings, and tolerance analyses, working with cross-functional teams to meet demanding EMI, safety, and regulatory standards.

Applicants should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience, strong sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast knowledge, and a proven ability to collaborate with manufacturing

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years designing electronic enclosures.
• Experience designing networking system enclosures (modular and fixed chassis).
• Sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast tooling knowledge.
• GD&T and tolerance analysis applied to electromechanical assemblies.
• Collaboration with manufacturing and ECAD/hardware teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver networking enclosures and cards meeting customer requirements.
• Create 3D CAD models and drawings using Creo or NX with GD&T.
• Perform 2D tolerance analyses for electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Work with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design issues.
• Exchange PCB IDF files with ECAD teams and address mechanical integrity.

Job description

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years of experience designing electronic enclosures.
• Design and deliver next-generation networking systems (modular and fixed chassis) and cards that meet customer requirements.
• Develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast materials that comply with EMI, safety, and other standards.
• Create 3D CAD models using Creo or NX and detailed drawings applying GD&T principles.
• Perform 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve design issues impacting field or production.
• Exchange PCB design IDF files with ECAD/hardware teams and address mechanical integrity concerns.
• Host peer and cross-functional design reviews.
• Proficiency in 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX).
• Experience with sheet metal design for mid to high volumes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast tooling.
