Job summary

Apetan Consulting LLC seeks an Electro-Mechanical Enclosure Designer to support design and development of advanced liquid cooling systems for Data Centers. You will focus on mechanical enclosure design, electrical integration, 3D modeling, and manufacturing-ready designs.

In this role you will lead the enclosure design, create models and drawings, validate with prototypes, and ensure compliance with IP/NEMA, UL, NEC, NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical enclosure design and electrical cabinet layouts.
• Expertise in 3D CAD modeling, engineering drawings, GD&T, and assembly design.
• Hands-on experience with SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with IP/NEMA, UL, NEC, NFPA and related standards.
• Experience with prototyping, design validation, manufacturing, and product lifecycle improvements.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and drive projects.

We are seeking a talented Electro-Mechanical Enclosure Designer to support the design and development of advanced liquid cooling systems for Data Centers for one of our customers. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electro-mechanical enclosures, electrical cabinets, and control panel assemblies
• Create 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and assembly layouts
• Integrate electrical components, cable routing, connectors, and cooling requirements within enclosure designs
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering teams
• Drive design validation, prototype development, testing, and continuous improvement
• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and manufacturing practices
• Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost optimization activities

• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, material selection, fastening methods, thermal management, and cable routing
• Familiarity with electrical enclosure protection ratings (IP/NEMA), and applicable UL, NEC, NFPA, and other relevant standards
• Experience supporting prototyping, design validation, manufacturing, and product lifecycle improvements
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and drive technical projects
