Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, a leading designer and manufacturer of highly-reliable miniature connectors for mission-critical applications, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative and collaborative engineering team in Minneapolis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a company that supports cutting-edge technology in aerospace, medical, defense, and industrial markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and improve miniature connector products from concept through production.
  • Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation using SolidWorks.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability, and validation of mechanical components.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, manufacturing, and quality to ensure seamless product development.
  • Participate in product testing and troubleshooting to meet performance, reliability, and environmental standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide engineering support for legacy products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in the connector or precision component industry.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with PDM systems.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, and stamping.
