We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our talented engineering team in Logan, Utah. In this role, you'll take part in the entire product lifecycle-researching, designing, analyzing, and supporting the production of sensor technologies that make a real-world difference. If you're a hands-on engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys tackling complex design challenges, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and support pressure, level, and other sensor products from concept through production
  • Design and analyze components using SolidWorks or Solid Edge and FEA tools like ANSYS or COMSOL
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) to optimize product performance and cost
  • Collaborate with sourcing, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth product launch and lifecycle support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges across new and existing products
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, drawings, BOMs, and specifications
  • Support sales and marketing with technical insights and custom solution development
  • Coordinate with external labs for standards testing and certifications when needed

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related field from an ABET-accredited university
  • 4+ years of experience in sensor design and/or manufacturing
  • Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks or Solid Edge) and FEA tools
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods including CNC machining, TIG or laser welding
  • Experience with ERP systems, technical documentation, and root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information
  • A hands-on, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and a drive for innovation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sensor types such as piezoelectric, capacitive, or MEMS
  • Familiarity with adhesives and materials used in sensor assembly
  • Understanding of environmental testing and hazardous location certification processes (UL, CSA, etc.)
  • Background in designing pressure, flow, or temperature sensors

Why Join APG?
