Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Design Coordinator to coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial/institutional projects. You will perform routine engineering tasks, write specifications, develop HVAC loads, and prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing systems.

You may supervise CAD Technicians and assist senior engineers on larger projects. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, strong computer skills, and a commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical aspects of projects
• Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments
• Write and edit mechanical specifications and select systems/devices
• Use engineering software to develop HVAC loads and energy analysis
• Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design
• Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers
• Supervise Mechanical CAD Technicians and coordinate with other disciplines
• Take responsibility for construction contract administration and field inspections
• Perform other duties as needed
