Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Coordinator/EIT to coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial and institutional projects, developing HVAC and plumbing design documents and selecting equipment.

You will write specifications and perform energy analyses to support resilient, efficient building systems. You will supervise Mechanical CAD Technicians, collaborate with architects and other engineers, and handle field inspections and contract administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Trane TRACE or similar software.
• Commitment to an active employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects.
• Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications and reports.
• Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices.
• Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and mechanical equipment selections.
• Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines.
• Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.

Education

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
