Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Design Coordinator in Atlanta, GA to lead mechanical aspects of projects and support the design of HVAC systems and building services. You will develop specifications, perform energy analyses, and prepare construction documents with CAD tools.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines, supervision of CAD technicians, and active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture, contributing to sustainable and innovative

Qualifications

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection tools.
Active participant in an employee-owned culture.
Healthcare, Science/Technology and/or Civic facilities experience preferred.
Experience at an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
Local candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects.
Prepare HVAC and plumbing design documents including drawings, specifications and reports.
Develop HVAC loads and energy analyses using engineering software.
Supervise Mechanical CAD Technicians and coordinate with architectural staff.
Independently handle small projects or assist senior engineers on larger ones.
Ensure construction contract administration including field inspections and conflict resolution.
