Job summary

System One is seeking a Mechanical Coordinator for a 6-month contract in Jamaica, NY. The candidate will oversee the mechanical contractor, ensure adherence to drawings, and manage safety protocols and daily reporting.

Responsibilities include coordinating equipment deliveries, maintaining daily reports, and liaising between plant operations and contractors to ensure smooth, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 SST Supervisor certification required.
• Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• General computer literacy for daily reporting.
• Proactive, solution-minded approach to issues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical contractor to ensure work aligns with drawings.
• Handle all mechanical LOTO requests for contractor and plant.
• Maintain mechanical daily reports.
• Coordinate deliveries of mechanical contractor equipment (boom truck, cranes, pipes/valves).
• Oversee safety standards for onsite mechanical trades.
• Monitor installations for quality and safety compliance.
• Track documents like blow down reports and weld x-rays.
• Act as liaison between plant operations and contractors/sub-contractors.
• Inform plant management of mechanical concerns and updates.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical contractor to make sure that they are doing the work as per specified drawings
• Handle all mechanical LOTO requests as needed for both the mechanical contractor as well as the plant
• Maintain mechanical daily reports
• Coordinate mechanical contractor equipment deliveries, boom truck, cranes, pipe/valve deliveries etc.
• Oversee mechanical trades onsite regarding all safety standards
• Monitor all mechanical installations to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Track mechanical documentation such as blow down reports, weld x-rays etc.
• Act as the liaison between plant operations and the mechanical contractors and sub-contractors
• Keep plant management informed of all mechanical concerns, issues, and happenings

Requirements

• OSHA 30 SST Supervisor
• Minimum high school diploma, GED, etc.
• General computer knowledge for daily report completion
• Can do/Proactive attitude towards situations and issues
