Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking a machinist for a Tonawanda, NY production facility. This contract, onsite role offers 40 hours per week at a target rate of $27 per hour.

You will inspect finished parts, operate manual lathes, grinders and burnishing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support mechanical assembly while maintaining a clean, safe shop environment.

Qualifications

• Must have experience using manual lathes, grinders and burnishing equipment.
• Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect completed work using precision measuring tools to verify dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues and develop practical solutions to minimize downtime and keep production moving.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs, fabrication, equipment assembly, and related shop activities to support daily production requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient machine shop and ensure tools and equipment are well maintained.
• Follow established safety procedures and contribute to a safe and productive working environment.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and technical teams to coordinate daily activities and resolve issues.
• Participate in turbomachinery, rotating equipment, CNC machining and other specialized projects as opportunities arise.

Overview

We have a client located in Tonawanda NY looking to hire a machinist to join their team at their production facility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Quality and Precision: Inspect completed work using appropriate precision measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications and quality standards.
