Plumbing Superintendent – Mechanical Contractor (Non-Union)

Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Plumbing Superintendent to oversee field operations on major commercial and industrial plumbing projects. This role is key to driving project success — ensuring quality, safety, and productivity while mentoring crews and coordinating closely with project management and general contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all field plumbing activities on active projects, from layout to final inspection
- Supervise field crews and subcontractors to ensure work meets scope, schedule, and quality requirements
- Coordinate daily with project managers, engineers, and foremen to align manpower, materials, and equipment
- Enforce safety standards and site‑specific protocols in compliance with company and OSHA requirements
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure correct installation
- Track daily progress, productivity, and materials; assist with forecasting labor needs
- Conduct quality control checks and proactively resolve field issues before they impact schedule
- Support preconstruction and planning efforts by providing constructability feedback and manpower input
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- 7+ years of commercial mechanical construction experience with at least 3+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role
- Proven success managing non-union crews on mid to large-scale commercial projects ($1M–$10M+)
- Strong knowledge of codes, systems, and installation methods for hospitals, education, industrial, and office projects
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with owners, GCs, and internal teams
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and BIM coordination drawings
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
