Job summary

Diamond Peak Recruiting is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

You will manage budgets, schedules, safety, quality, and coordination with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field leadership to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial or industrial mechanical construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, or related mechanical systems.
• Understanding of drawings, specifications, estimating, scheduling, procurement, and project financials.
• Experience coordinating with general contractors, field teams, engineers, owners, and subcontractors.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining control of project budgets, schedules, and quality.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction projects from turnover through execution, commissioning, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, procurement plans, and cash flow projections.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and scopes of work to identify conflicts.
• Coordinate daily project activities with superintendents, foremen, contractors, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor labor productivity, material procurement, equipment delivery, project costs, and schedule performance.
• Identify risks, resolve field and design issues, and implement corrective actions to meet objectives.
• Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
• Oversee testing, commissioning coordination, punch lists, turnover documentation, and closeout.

This individual will manage projects from preconstruction and budgeting through installation, commissioning, and final closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical construction, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal systems, and is comfortable coordinating with general contractors, owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction projects from project turnover and preconstruction through execution, commissioning, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, procurement plans, and cash flow projections.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and scopes of work to identify potential conflicts and opportunities.
• Coordinate daily project activities with superintendents, foremen, general contractors, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor labor productivity, material procurement, equipment delivery, project costs, and schedule performance.
