Job summary

Jobot in the Chicago area is seeking a Project Coordinator to support mechanical construction projects, including HVAC and sheet metal work. This on-site role focuses on coordinating with project teams, managing documentation, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and procurement tasks across large commercial and industrial builds in the Chicagoland area.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of construction coordination or administration, strong organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in construction, project coordination, project administration, or related role
• Experience with mechanical, HVAC, sheet metal, MEP, or commercial construction is highly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management or document-control software is a plus
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of active construction projects
• Maintain project documentation, schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and purchase orders
• Track material and equipment procurement and coordinate deliveries with project teams
• Assist with project startup, closeout documentation, warranties, and turnover packages
• Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and internal field teams
• Help maintain project schedules and track important milestones and deadlines
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation for completeness
• Assist with meeting preparation, project updates, and documentation of action items
• Support BIM, fabrication, and field teams with project information and coordination
• Help identify outstanding project items and ensure they are addressed in a timely manner
• Maintain organized and accurate project files throughout the duration of each project
