Job summary

Procon seeks a Mechanical Commissioning Agent to lead commissioning from design through warranty across government, military, education, and commercial facilities. You will drive testing, reviews, and performance assessments to ensure optimal building operation.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background with BAS/SCADA experience, a PE/CxA pathway, and willingness to travel in the DMV area. FE/PE supervision may apply; strong independent work is valued.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering (ABET‑accredited) or 5 years commissioning or 10 years HVAC design.
• US Citizenship is required.
• PE license or ability to be licensed, and CxA certification desirable.
• In-depth BAS/SCADA knowledge and controls experience.
• Residency in the Washington, DC metropolitan area; relocation not offered.
• Up to 25% travel may be required.
• EIT possible; pursuing PE licensure is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning meetings across design, construction, and handover phases.
• Develop Pre‑Functional Checklists and Functional Performance Tests.
• Perform site observations, witness startups, and document findings.
• Coordinate equipment startup tests and reporting.
• Track and facilitate resolution of commissioning issues.
• Educate Operations & Maintenance on system functionality and performance.
• Maintain detailed commissioning documentation and plans.
