Job summary

FPC National seeks a Senior Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to drive performance in mission-critical data centers. You will own system readiness from design through execution, coordinating field teams and ensuring HVAC, chillers, pumps, and controls operate to spec.

You will mentor junior engineers, deliver rigorous testing, manage schedules and budgets, and engage clients to validate installation quality and operational readiness in complex environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; senior field mechanical experience considered.
• 7+ years of commissioning engineering experience.
• 3+ years of lead mechanical CX in data center environments; L1-L5 leadership execution.
• Experience with HVAC, controls, automation, fire safety systems a plus.
• Ability to read construction documents; strong communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical commissioning activities across the full lifecycle of a data center build (L1–L5).
• Execute functional testing, witness testing and system validation.
• Manage assignments within schedule, budget and quality expectations.
• Lead meetings, communicate findings and build client/contractor relationships.
• Mentor junior engineers and support training.

They are seeking a Senior Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer who brings deep technical expertise, field leadership, and the ability to drive outcomes in high-performance environments.

• 7+ years of experience in commissioning engineering
• 3+ years of Lead Mechanical Cx data center experience…Direct L1-L5 experience leadership execution
• Experience with HVAC, controls, automation, fire safety systems a plus
• Ability to read construction documents
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• EIT, CEM, OSHA 30, BIM experience, Facility Grid a plus
