Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a Mechanical Co-op in Boston to contribute to energy‑efficient building services and innovative engineering solutions.

You will learn HVAC design, collaborate with architects and engineers, and support detailed calculations, drawings, and reports while developing technical and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (preferred).
• Coursework in mechanical/HVAC design, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and/or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with BIM modeling software, such as Revit and AutoCAD, a plus.
• Internship experience at engineering related firm preferred, and proven interest in the built environment.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner.

As a Mechanical Co‑op, you will learn about HVAC systems and collaborate with architects and other engineers to develop creative, energy‑efficient buildings that provide aesthetics to their physical surroundings and utility to their occupants. Your key duties

Your skills and experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering preferred; however, candidates pursuing related engineering degrees such as Civil, Environmental or Sanitary Engineering are encouraged to apply
• Coursework in mechanical/HVAC design, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and/or thermodynamics
• Familiarity with BIM modeling software, such as Revit and AutoCAD, a plus
• Internship experience at engineering related firm preferred, and proven interest in the built environment
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner
• Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
