Job summary

Buro Happold Limited in New York is seeking a motivated Mechanical Intern to join our team. You will gain hands-on experience designing and optimizing HVAC systems within sustainable building projects.

Work alongside engineers and architects in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. We offer hybrid work, learning opportunities, and exposure to global engineering networks that shape communities and address climate challenges.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering preferred; however, candidates pursuing related engineering degrees such as Civil, Environmental or Sanitary Engineering are encouraged to apply
• Coursework in mechanical/HVAC design, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and/or thermodynamics
• Familiarity with BIM modeling software, such as Revit and AutoCAD, a plus
• Internship experience at engineering related firm preferred, and proven interest in the built environment
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner
• Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they don't meet all the requirements

As a Mechanical Intern, you will learn about HVAC systems and collaborate with architects and other engineers to develop creative, energy‑efficient buildings that provide aesthetics to their physical surroundings and utility to their occupants.
