Job summary

Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory seeks a Mechanical Engineering Technologist for the Mechanical and Electrical Design Department. You will assist with mechanical design, create 2D drawings and 3D models, and support R&D engineers on Navy/DoD research projects.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and familiarity with CAD tools and PLM systems. This 100% on-site role offers strong benefits and security clearances per ARL norms.

Responsibilities

• Assist design programs with mechanical design support.
• Participate in design reviews and meetings.
• Collaborate to address design, material, and component needs.
• Create 2D detail drawings for fabrication parts/assemblies.
• Create basic to intermediate 3D solid models.
• Maintain design documentation and BOMs.
