Schlumberger Limited is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer to join our Sustaining Engineering team in Shreveport, LA. The role focuses on maintaining and improving released products and manufacturing operations, developing 3D models, drawings, and documentation while implementing engineering changes.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of mechanical design experience, expertise in SolidWorks (preferred) or Creo, and strong GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical diploma in mechanical drafting or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical design and sustaining engineering experience.
• Strong SolidWorks (preferred) and Creo proficiency with manufacturing drawings.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and maintain 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks and/or Creo.
• Update fabrication drawings, assemblies, weldment drawings, and manufacturing documentation for released products.
• Implement ECOs and ECRs to control design changes.
• Support manufacturing, quality, and field service teams by addressing design-related issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Investigate design concerns, manufacturing challenges, and field-reported issues; support root cause analysis.
• Revise structural framing, equipment supports, mounting arrangements, cable tray supports, access platforms, and mechanical integration features.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawing packages, and engineering documentation.
• Support substitutions, supplier changes, and obsolescence management initiatives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to improve product quality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
• Prepare engineering change documentation and drawing revisions per company processes.
• Participate in design reviews and implement approved design improvements.
• Ensure compliance with drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing best practices.
• Support continuous improvement, value engineering, cost reduction, and product reliability initiatives.
