Job summary

Frymaster in Shreveport, LA is seeking a CAD Designer I to support engineers in creating detailed product layouts and configurations using Creo or SolidWorks. The role emphasizes documentation of specifications, entry into ERP structures, and adherence to engineering change processes.

You will collaborate with design teams and engineers to ensure accurate, compliant designs and effective communication of risks and progress across cross-functional groups.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with preparatory training / Technical Diploma or Certificate / Associate Degree.
• 2 years of progressive experience in a related mechanical design field with associate degree or 1-2 year diploma in design program.
• 4 years’ experience in design field without a formal education in design related field.

Responsibilities

• Create product documentation and monitor the Engineering Change process.
• Ensure conformance to applicable standards, codes, and company policies.
• Work with engineers and design teams to coordinate designs.
• Integrate work of technical experts into projects and details designs as directed.
• Participate in cross-functional design teams.
• Make decisions using decision support tools and critical thinking.
• Clearly communicate results and risks involved.
• Prepare engineering documents such as ECRs, ECNs, and prototype part requests.
• Use ERP systems to release changes via ECO and manage BoMs.
• Support building engineering prototypes.
• Assist in selecting and operating CAD software and hardware.
• Respond to and resolve manufacturing and quality problems.
• Provide product information to Sales, Marketing, and Tech Services.
