Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a Designer for the Mortise Lock Engineering Team in Berlin, CT. The position is onsite full-time, reporting to the Mechanical Team Lead for the Electro-Mechanical Access Control platform.

You will design concepts, develop 3D models, and produce compliant drawings in collaboration with engineers. Responsibilities include coordinating ECN changes, creating detailed layouts, maintaining documentation, and supporting vendors and purchasing with accurate product documents.

Qualifications

• An Associate’s degree in an Engineering discipline preferred.
• Three (3) years product designing experience in a manufacturing company preferred.
• Training in CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
• Training in PDM/PLM (Teamcenter preferred).
• Training in ERP/MRP (JDE preferred).
• Experience reading and implementing GD&T.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Well organized and highly motivated.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual designs using 3D modeling and 2D drawing development.
• Develop 3D model concepts and 2D layouts with engineers.
• Process Engineering Change Notices and release drawings.
• Create part, sub-assembly, and assembly drawings in standard formats.
• Maintain engineering documentation and PDM/PLM systems.
• Assist Purchasing with documentation requests for vendors.
• Coordinate upgrades to engineering software as needed.
• Help maintain product structures in the MRP system and product configurator.
• Assist in product testing and related correspondence.
