Job summary

Allegion in Fontana, CA is seeking a Design Technician 1 to create and modify 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for our product lines. You will work with engineering to ensure designs meet quality and manufacturing standards while supporting 2nd shift operations.

The role requires an associate degree in CAD/Design/ME tech and 0-2 years of drafting experience, with proficiency in SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD and GD&T knowledge as a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD/Design/MEchanical Tech or related field required.
• 0-2 years of experience in mechanical drafting/design or similar role.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD.
• Ability and willingness to work 2nd shift hours.
• Basic understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and revise 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Assist in the preparation and processing of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and related documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve basic design and production issues.
• Perform basic tolerance analysis and assist with prototype testing and evaluation.
