Based in vibrant Raleigh, NC, this onsite opportunity places you at the heart of our Grid Integration team, where innovation and collaboration drive everything we do. As a Mechanical CAD Design Specialist, you’ll contribute to the design of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) stations that power communities across the globe. This is an onsite role and requires presence in the office at least 4 days a week.

How you'll make an impact

Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for HVDC station components

Collaborate on station layouts and building requirements for onshore and offshore projects

Support civil designers with technical inputs and installation drawings

Apply design standards and safety protocols to every project

Deliver high-quality CAD outputs using advanced tools like NX/TC

Contribute to the development of modular and standardized structures

Ensure project milestones are met with precision and efficiency

Your background

Associate degree or 3D modeling certification with at least 2 years of experience

Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drafting using NX/TC software

Experience in substation or HV/EHV engineering projects

Familiarity with manufacturing and production processes

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Willingness to work onsite at least 4 days per week

Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
