Based in vibrant Raleigh, NC, this onsite opportunity places you at the heart of our Grid Integration team, where innovation and collaboration drive everything we do. As a Mechanical CAD Design Specialist, you'll contribute to the design of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) stations that power communities across the globe. This is an onsite role and requires presence in the office at least 4 days a week.

How you'll make an impact

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for HVDC station components

• Collaborate on station layouts and building requirements for onshore and offshore projects

• Support civil designers with technical inputs and installation drawings

• Apply design standards and safety protocols to every project

• Deliver high-quality CAD outputs using advanced tools like NX/TC

• Contribute to the development of modular and standardized structures

• Ensure project milestones are met with precision and efficiency

Your background

• Associate degree or 3D modeling certification with at least 2 years of experience

• Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drafting using NX/TC software

• Experience in substation or HV/EHV engineering projects

• Familiarity with manufacturing and production processes

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• Willingness to work onsite at least 4 days per week

• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
