Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Design of fire alarm, sprinkler, and security systems for SLS construction projects.
• Collaborate closely with Field Operations and Application Engineers.
• Create accurate AutoCAD packages for SLS plans.
• Manage multiple projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project timelines and phases.
• Review project scope, specifications, and code compliance.
• Prepare system layouts, BOM, sequences, riser diagrams, and calculations.
• Update plans based on field changes for as-built drawings.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding design updates and approvals.
• Use in-house printing resources to produce professional designs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
• Design projects according to Climatec standards and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• At least 2 years of experience in Fire Alarm, Sprinkler, and Security Design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, including working with floor plans, blocks, external references, and page setups.
• Experience with MS Office Suite and Adobe.
• Strong communication skills.
• Customer and employee problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 Fire Life Safety Code.
• Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical plans.
• Good organizational skills for time management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in related field.
• Over 3 years of experience in fire alarm systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, BIM360, Revit, and BlueBeam Studio.
• Understanding of fire alarm system integration.
• NICET or similar certifications.
• Professional demeanor and positive attitude.

• Maintain a valid driver’s license per company policy.
• Perform physical activities like kneeling, stooping, and crawling.
