Job summary

NORR in Chicago is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team. You will develop design solutions for building projects, coordinate with disciplines, and ensure compliance with codes and budgets.

You will work with AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create drawings, perform calculations, and document site conditions. A post-secondary education in engineering and 7–10 years of project experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have professional engineering knowledge of building mechanical systems.
• Familiar with architectural design concepts and building codes.
• 7–10 years of project experience in mechanical design.

Responsibilities

• Design building mechanical components and integrate with architectural concepts.
• Create drawings and perform calculations to support construction projects.
• Evaluate site conditions, conduct surveys, and document existing and new construction.
• Coordinate with disciplines and write engineering specifications for project manuals.
• Review shop drawings for conformance to documents and codes.
