Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical BIM Coordinator in Chicago to support mechanical engineering BIM workflow and help grow the CAD bench. The role requires 2+ years BIM/Revit experience and will work under engineers and design staff in our downtown office.

You will model disciplines, create detailed drawings, maintain models, and produce project documentation with accurate annotations using current 3D software. Preference for local candidates and strong communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure
• Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential
• Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
• 2+ years BIM/Revit experience
• Preference given to local candidates

Responsibilities

• Work for a specific discipline, under the direct supervision of an Engineer, or other technical professional
• Assist in the development of the discipline model, with direction from the Digital Design, Architectural, or Engineering staff
• Responsible for assisting with the creation of the discipline model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output for that discipline
• Accurately model the BIM elements in the correct special constraints of the modeling environment, using the current 3D software
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, & diagrams of the design using the current 3D software
• Maintain the discipline model including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheets
• Produce discipline specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output

Job description

To help support our rapidly growing mechanical needs in the Data Center market, and to provide the mechanical engineering team BIM support, HDR desires a Mechanical BIM Coordinator that has over 2 years of BIM/Revit experience to work out of our downtown Chicago office. This position will also help develop our CAD bench with a strong network of support staff who will help coach, mentor and grow their drafting/design capabilities and expertise.
