Job summary

Daikin Comfort seeks a Mechanical Automation Engineer 2 for its Production Engineering group, supporting all areas of production and assembly. The role involves conceptualizing and programming automation equipment, prioritizing robotics, and coordinating with multiple departments to meet schedules and budgets.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, plus 3+ years in production or manufacturing engineering and experience with 3D CAD

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics, robotics, mechanical, mechatronics, or electrical engineering is required.
  • 3+ years in a production/manufacturing engineer role.
  • 1+ years of 3D CAD design experience.
  • 1+ years working with industrial robots preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, specify, design, order, and program automation equipment with a focus on robotics.
  • Manage project plans and capital projects within cross-functional teams.
  • Design automation cell layouts and robot tooling using 3D CAD software, and create detailed drawings.
  • Analyze processes to optimize cycle times and implement small equipment cells into production environments.
  • Document equipment designs with BOMs, cost analysis, and drawings, and coordinate with internal/external teams to ensure on-time delivery.
