Job summary

SIG is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our Northlake manufacturing team. You will assemble mechanical equipment, including Bag-in-Box fillers, interpret drawings, and ensure assemblies meet engineering specifications.

You will also support light machining, assist with electrical field activities, and participate in continuous improvement focused on safety and efficiency. A strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or certification in mechanical assembly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in mechanical assembly in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and SOPs.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head of Sales Operations to understand forecasting bottlenecks and inconsistencies to improve sales team's performance
• Assemble mechanical equipment, machinery, and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to ensure accurate assembly and proper fitment of parts.
• Perform inspections and quality checks throughout the assembly process to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and assembly machinery safely and effectively.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues during assembly activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve assembly processes and product quality.
• Document assembly activities, including labor time, materials used, and issues encountered.
• Follow company safety procedures and actively participate in safety training programs.
