Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Machine Builder in Milwaukee, WI to perform mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies and large components for OEM equipment. You will read blueprints, shop orders, and specifications, measure parts with precision tools, operate overhead cranes, and assemble parts using drills, band saws, and hydraulic/pneumatic components.

This contract role offers a fast-paced, safety-focused environment with opportunities for hands-on learning and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education generally equivalent to a High School diploma.
• Experience using rigging equipment for handling and positioning large components.
• Proficiency with power tools and hand tools in a manufacturing or machine build environment.
• Ability to follow shop orders and specifications in production.
• Owns a personal set of tools suitable for mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components according to engineering specifications.
• Read and follow blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other instructions to build assemblies on schedule.
• Assemble components using 2D/3D prints, ensuring proper fit and function.
• Measure parts precisely with scales, micrometers, and calipers to verify tolerances.
• Utilize overhead cranes and rigging equipment to move large components safely.
• Use hand and machine tools (drill presses, band saws, cut-off saws) for assembly.
