Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Wendell, NC seeks Mechanical Assemblers for 2nd shift. You will perform sub-assembly and final wiring with precision, work with large cables and panels, and follow BOMs and layouts. Training starts on 1st shift with transition to 2nd shift and a shift differential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform sub-assembly and final assembly wiring with high accuracy and workmanship per layouts and drawings.
  • Work with large power cables and panels, ensuring correct crimping methods and assembly according to BOMs and drawings.
  • Set up and properly use torque wrenches and follow established processes while identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Record job transactions and production data, read BOMs, and follow instructions and assembly documentation.
  • Safely operate standard hand, power, pneumatic, and battery-operated tools and measuring devices.
  • Identify common mechanical parts and basic electrical components while assembling sub-assemblies and parts kits.
  • Adhere to safety policies and support continuous improvement efforts while working as a team.

We are looking for Mechanical Assemblers to join our Production Team on the 2nd shift. These positions will be based at our Wendell, NC facility.

Shift Hours:3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Hourly Rate:$19.00 + $1.50 Shift Differential

Note: Training will begin on 1st shift prior to transitioning to 2nd shift, with an additional $1.50 shift differential for 2nd shift.

Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to occasionally lift parts or sub‑assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continuous basis without the need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess some knowledge on electrical clearances
  • Associates Degree or technical training in area of responsibility
  • Proven record in Quality and Productivity
You’ll make a difference by:
  • Perform sub‑assembly and final assembly wiring with high accuracy and workmanship, including proper stripping, crimping, and assembly of mechanical and electrical components per layouts and drawings
  • Work with large power cables and panels, ensuring correct crimping methods and assembly according to BOMs, layouts, and assembly drawings
  • Set up and properly use torque wrenches, apply specified torque values, and follow established processes while identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Accurately record job transactions and production data, read BOMs, and follow work instructions and assembly documentation
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and safely operate standard hand, power, pneumatic, and battery‑operated tools, as well as measuring tools such as tape measures and other standard devices
  • Develop the ability to identify common mechanical parts and basic electrical components while assembling sub‑assemblies, parts kits, and aftermarket orders
  • Adhere to Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety policies, support continuous improvement efforts, work effectively as a team player, and perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management
