Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $22.00/hr

The Mechanical Assembler I at Aqua-Chem requires a level of mechanical aptitude conducive to learning new skills with a desire to learn.

Schedule: (1st Shift) Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (OT may be required on Friday's 6:00am - 2:30pm)

Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN

Pay Range: $17.00 - $22.00/hr, Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties:

  • Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform basic duties such as bending metal tubing with the use of rolling and bending machines.
  • Ability to run a cold and cutoff saw.
  • Perform basic assembly of metal materials as part of a larger assembly production.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space as well as around the manufacturing floor as requested.
  • Comprehend and follow ISO procedures to ensure compliance with standard.
  • Move materials and/or finished products to facilitate proper workflow.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools and power tools to assemble components.
  • Safety awareness with the willingness to perform duties safely while wearing proper PPE.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surfaces and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and climb stairs.
  • Must be able to work in temperature ranges corresponding to the outside ambient temperatures.
  • Able to work overtime as required

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year in a manufacturing environment, preferred but not required.
  • Basic shop math and measurement skills
  • Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings
