Aerotek is hiring for Mechanical Assemblers on a 2nd shift in Minnesota. You will work on precision mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly across medical, magnet, gear motor, and electronics areas in a clean, climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of strong mechanical assembly experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Weekly Pay: $23-26/hr

Job Description

This role focuses on precision mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly within multiple specialized departments, including medical assembly, magnet assembly, gear motor assembly, and electronics assembly. You will assemble brakes, clutches, and related components used in medical equipment, farm machinery, and automation systems, ensuring high quality and accuracy in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. The position offers opportunities to advance into more complex areas such as electronic or gearmotor assembly.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components, including brakes, clutches, gear motors, and drives, according to blueprints and work instructions.
• Perform bench assembly of low-volume, high-mix products, often working on multiple product types in a single day while maintaining high accuracy and consistency.
• Use hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure components meet specifications.
• Operate and safely handle power tools for assembly tasks, including fastening, drilling, and related operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics to understand assembly requirements, component orientation, and build sequences.
• Perform sub-assembly work, preparing parts and modules for final assembly in various departments.
• Work with epoxy machines and related equipment in magnet assembly, applying adhesives and sealants with strong attention to detail.
• Conduct basic mechanical repair or rework when necessary to correct assembly issues or meet quality standards.
• Handle small parts and intricate assemblies, particularly in medical and electronics departments, using careful hand-eye coordination and steady manual dexterity.

Essential Skills

• At least 2+ years of strong Mechanical assembly experience in a fast paced environment.
• Proven experience working with hand tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, and other basic mechanical tools.
• Proficiency with power tools used in assembly, such as drills, drivers, and related equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Mechanical inclination and strong mechanical aptitude, with comfort working on mechanical systems and components.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Experience or comfort with electrical and mechanical assembly processes.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and remain focused on tasks with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail, especially when working in a low-volume, high-product-mix environment.
• Comfort working with both small and larger parts across different assembly departments.
• Interest in career growth into electronic or gearmotor assembly roles.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
