Aerotek is hiring an Assembler in Dallas, TX, for a hands-on role in a machine shop environment. You will assemble small components and large assemblies, perform brazing and welding, and verify dimensions with precision tools.

Qualifications

Job Title: Assembler Job Description

This role focuses on assembling small components and large mechanical projects in a machine shop environment. You will perform brazing and welding, operate a variety of shop tools and equipment, and ensure that all assemblies meet strict quality and safety standards. The position requires careful inspection of parts against blueprints and mechanical drawings, adherence to work order build times, and support of cross-functional teams as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble small components and large mechanical assemblies according to blueprints, mechanical drawings, and work instructions.
• Perform brazing and welding operations as required for various assemblies.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, scales, protractors, micrometers, radius gauges, and other dimensional scales to verify part dimensions and assembly accuracy.
• Inspect parts to print to verify correct assembly and ensure they meet customer and company quality standards.
• Deburr metal and perform grinding operations to prepare and finish parts.
• Operate machine shop equipment, including grinders, presses, lathes, and other machining tools, while following established procedures.
• Perform machine changeovers and basic troubleshooting to maintain efficient production flow.
• Exceed or meet work order build times while maintaining an acceptable production rate and high-quality workmanship.
• Clean parts and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Optimize setup time to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Minimize rework and scrap by following instructions carefully and performing thorough inspections.
• Adhere to all company safety standards, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Provide support to other departments on an as-needed basis to help meet overall production goals.
• Train new hires on shop layout, equipment, processes, and different functions within the assembly area.
• Drive to external locations such as plating and machining vendors as needed to support production activities.
• Work with and protect proprietary and confidential information in accordance with business policies and procedures.
• Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
• Manage time effectively to handle day-to-day work assignments that may increase in complexity and volume.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production facility with approximately 20 team members in the production area, reflecting strong growth over the past year. You will work primarily on a first-shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work at month-end to meet production demands. The environment is a machine shop setting with machining, grinding, pressing, and assembly operations, requiring the use of steel-toe footwear and adherence to safety protocols. You will work with a variety of shop tools, measuring instruments, and equipment in a setting that emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safe work practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43264.00 - $43264.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
