Job summary

Aerotek in Johnstown, PA is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Assembler to join a contract manufacturing team. You will assemble, test, and inspect electrical and mechanical subassemblies following detailed work instructions.

The role requires reading blueprints, wiring, soldering, crimping, and using hand and power tools, with attention to IPC/J-STD standards. Onsite work, weekly pay, and benefits available.

Qualifications

• Assemble electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical components per specs.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings; perform wiring and soldering.
• Maintain IPC/J-STD workmanship standards throughout production.
• Document production activities and report quality concerns or material shortages.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components and subassemblies according to specifications and work instructions.
• Perform wiring, cable routing, crimping, soldering, and connector installation.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque tools, calipers, heat guns, and other assembly equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
• Perform inspections and verify product quality throughout the assembly process.
• Maintain IPC and J-STD workmanship standards.
• Document production activities, labor tracking, and assembly completion within company systems.
• Identify and report quality concerns, material shortages, and discrepancies in work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Meet daily production schedules, quality requirements, and efficiency goals.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

This position is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting electrical and mechanical assemblies while following detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Johnstown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
