Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking an Assembly Technician to support the Teledyne Relays division on-site. The role focuses on precision mechanical assembly, visual inspection, and testing of relay/electronic components using a microscope.

The candidate should have 2–4 years of mechanical assembly experience, read assembly drawings, and ideally hold IPC J-STD-001 Inspector CIS certification. Strong hand-eye coordination and clear communication with team members are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–4 years mechanical assembly experience required.
  • Preference for IPC J-STD-001 Inspector (CIS) certification up to Space level.
  • Able to read and interpret documents and procedures.
  • Must communicate effectively with Lead, Supervisor, Customers and colleagues.
  • Good eye-hand coordination for small parts.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and procedures.
  • Assemble small components using a microscope.
  • Visual inspection of solder joints, wiring and staking to IPC J-STD-001.
  • Assemble, adjust and test relays or switches and other electronics.
  • Work on semi-routine assignments with general instructions and specifics for new tasks.

What you’ll do
  • Ability to work with a microscope
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and procedures
  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature. Normally receives general instructions on routine assignments and detailed instructions on new assignments.
  • Visual inspection of solder joints, wiring &staking to IPC J-STD-001
  • Assembly of small components using a microscope
  • Adjustment of Relays or Switches or other electronics
  • Testing of Relays or Switches or other electronics
What you need
  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • 2 to 4 years of mechanical assembly experience (required)
  • Preference to individual withcurrent or previous certification as anIPC J-STD-001 Inspector (CIS) up to Space level
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents and operation procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to Lead, Supervisor, Customers (as required) and colleagues
  • Must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished via written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with or assist in problem solving.
  • Must have good eye-hand coordination -dexterity to assemble small parts
