Job summary

Regal Rexnord in Wisconsin is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to build bulk container handling equipment both mechanically and with simple electrical assemblies. You will follow Busse machine drawings, machining and controls schematics to assemble to spec and solve issues on the line.

This onsite role requires reading diagrams, using hand tools, performing quality checks, and maintaining accurate labor, material and Kanban records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply basic algebra/geometry; ability to use a tape measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out written/oral/diagram instructions and handle problems with several variables.
  • Basic PC skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Blueprint Reading.

Responsibilities

  • Use Busse machine drawings, machine assembly drawings, controls schematics and BOMs to build according to drawings.
  • Engage in reduction/elimination of non-value-added work.
  • Utilize hand tools for structural, mechanical, fluid, guard/cover, mechanical and simple electrical assembly.
  • Complete quality assurance checks for Busse Blue Books.
  • Provide accurate labor/material documentation and reports.
  • Execute Busse Kanban inventory re-ordering policies.
  • Prepare equipment for shipment including machine teardown.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Assembler requires a wide range of skills to prepare bulk container handling equipment both mechanically and simple electrical assemblies.

Major Responsibilities
  • Use Busse machine drawings, machine assembly drawings, controls schematics and relevant bills of materials to proficiently build according to drawings and problem solve where needed.
  • Engage in the reduction and/or elimination of non-value-added work throughout the organization.
  • Utilize hand tools proficiently in performing the following tasks: Structural assembly, Mechanical drive assembly, Fluid control assembly, Guard and cover assembly, Mechanical assembly, simple electrical assembly. Work must represent quality workmanship, neatness, with acceptable efficiencies.
  • Complete quality assurance checks for the Busse Blue Books.
  • Provide accurate documentation skills that includes labor reporting, material issue/returns, material moves, and material scrap reports.
  • Execute Busse inventory re-ordering policies that includes "Kanban".
  • Prepare equipment for shipment including, but not limited to, machine teardown.
Required Education / Experience / Skills
  • General supervision: routine duties are performed with minimal supervision. Standard practices or procedures allow me to proceed alone at routine work. Occasional check of work while in progress. Work is reviewed upon completion.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
