Job summary

SpecSys is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to define build sequences and perform hands-on labor assembling mobile equipment for railway, construction, oil, and mining sectors. Precision and teamwork are essential to meet on-time, on-budget, and safe project goals.

The role requires following controlled documentation, using hand tools, and collaborating with the project manager to implement changes. SpecSys emphasizes safety, quality, and community values, offering a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow drawings, schematics, and customer specifications.
• Math skills to solve problems.
• Can stand for 8 hours+ and lift 75 pounds.
• Able to troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Follow work order instructions and QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Assembles mechanical components into controls of moderate complexity following documented standards.
• Assembles hydraulic actuators by hand using tools; bends tubing, drills, taps.
• Identifies efficient assembly sequences to minimize unproductive time.
• Ensures products are built and tested to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinates with project manager for ECO/design changes in assembly.
• Provides input into QC process improvements.

As the Mechanical Assembler, your primary responsibility will be to accurately define appropriate build sequences and provide hands on labor to assemble mobile equipment projects for industries including railway, construction, oil, mining, and more. You will use your detail-oriented skills to take responsibility and see projects through to completion.

What does the Mechanical Assembler is responsible do for SpecSys?

• Assembles mechanical components into controls of moderate complexity by following controlled documentation, standards and specifications
• Assembles hydraulic actuators by hand using hand tools bending tubing, drilling and taping
• Identifies appropriate assembly sequences to minimize unproductive time
• Ensures products are built and tested to meet customer requirements
• Identifies component shortages and coordinate parts tracking with purchasing / material handling department
• Coordinates work load with the assigned project manager to ensure design changes ECO changes are implemented into the overall assembly process
• Provides input into QC process improvements

• Knowledge of designing, using, and repairing machines and tools, computer hardware and software, building machines, and using plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
• Math skills to solve problems
• The ability to read and understand written information
• Can identify problems and review informationHas the ability to understand and follow detailed drawings, schematics, assembly drawings, customer specifications and assembly procedures
• Can lift 75 pounds
• Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical schematics
• Can stand for 8 hours plus per day
• Understands and follows work order instructions including sign-off of assembly department dispatches
• Understands and follows existing quality control processes
• Has any combination of education and experience that provides the required skill and knowledge for successful performance
