Job summary

SpecSys, a growing rural Midwest employer, is seeking an Assembly Lead to supervise daily assembly operations at the facility. The role includes coordinating with management, ensuring QC and safety standards, and guiding team performance in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Reads/interprets blueprints including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagrams.
• Follows work order instructions and signs off department dispatches.
• Able to design and construct assembly elements.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Identify assembly sequences to minimize unproductive time.
• Approve employee time in/out and time-off requests.
• Develop performance documentation for employees.
• Coordinate orders with management and purchasing for assemblies.
• Ensure QC processes and product testing meet requirements.
• Document workplace injuries and liaise with HR and QC/Compliance.
• Ensure designs are implemented and products meet customer specs.
• Coordinate workload with project manager for ECO changes.

SALARY RANGE: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour

As the Assembly Lead, your primary responsibility is the daily supervision of all assembly operations within the given facility.

What does the Assembly Lead do at SpecSys?

• Identify appropriate assembly sequences to minimize unproductive time
• Approve employee time in/out and time off requests
• Develop employee performance review documentation utilizing existing document formats supplied by Human Resources
• Coordinate orders with management and purchasing department for assemblies and shop supplies
• Ensure QC processes and procedures are adhered to
• Document any workplace related injuries and communicating with Human Resources and Director of Quality Control and Compliance
• Ensure products are built and tested to meet customer requirements
• Coordinate workload with the assigned project manager to ensure design changes ECO changes are implemented into the overall assembly process

What are we looking for in a great Assembly Lead?

• Accurately reads/interprets blueprints that may include mechanical connections/joints, mechanical assembly prints, hydraulic/pneumatic schematics, electrical wiring diagrams
• Ability to understand and the willingness to follow work order instructions including signing-off of assembly department dispatches
• Designs and constructs
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable communicating with management and Human Resources
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to bend, crawl and be on feet for 8 plus hours per workday
• Has any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance
